By using homehelpnavigators.com or engaging Home Help Navigators (“HHN”, “we”) for enrollment assistance, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
What HHN does
HHN is a licensed Michigan home care agency. We help Michigan families enroll in the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Home Help Program — a state Medicaid benefit that pays family members and friends to care for eligible loved ones at home.
We are not a government agency. We are not MDHHS. We are not affiliated with the State of Michigan. We are an independent agency that families work with voluntarily to navigate the enrollment process.
Free service
Our enrollment assistance is free to you. We are paid by Medicaid only when an eligible family successfully enrolls and begins receiving Home Help services. You will never be billed by HHN.
What we don't do
HHN does not provide:
- Medical advice. We’re not doctors. Nothing on our website or in our communications is medical advice.
- Legal advice. We help with the enrollment paperwork, but we are not lawyers and don’t provide legal counsel.
- Financial advice. We can describe the program’s pay structure, but we are not financial advisors.
- Guarantees of enrollment. Eligibility for the Michigan Home Help Program is determined by MDHHS, not HHN. We help families through the process, but we cannot promise approval. Some applications are denied for reasons outside our control.
If you need medical, legal, or financial advice, please consult an appropriate licensed professional.
Your responsibilities
To enroll successfully, you’ll need to:
- Provide accurate, truthful information on your application
- Respond promptly to requests for documents (Medicaid card, ID, etc.)
- Sign and submit forms required by MDHHS
- Notify HHN of changes that affect eligibility (move, change of caregiver, death of the care recipient)
If we can’t reach you or you don’t respond to requests for documents, we may not be able to complete your enrollment.
Eligibility determined by MDHHS
The Michigan Home Help Program is administered by MDHHS. Eligibility — for both the care recipient and the paid caregiver — is determined by MDHHS based on Michigan Medicaid rules. HHN can prepare a complete and accurate application, but we cannot determine or override MDHHS’s decisions.
Even with HHN’s assistance, MDHHS may deny or delay enrollment for reasons including but not limited to:
- The care recipient does not meet Michigan Medicaid eligibility criteria
- The caregiver does not pass the required background check
- Documents are missing or incomplete
- The care recipient’s assessed needs do not meet the threshold for Home Help services
Marketing communications consent
By submitting a form on our website or otherwise providing us your phone number, you consent to be contacted by HHN at that number — including by autodialer, prerecorded voice, or text message — for purposes of providing the service. Consent to receive marketing communications is not required to use our services. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time (see our Privacy Policy).
Intellectual property
All content on homehelpnavigators.com — text, images, logos, layout, code — is owned by HHN or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may share links to public pages on the site, but you may not copy, modify, or redistribute the content without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Michigan law:
- HHN’s services are provided “as is.” We make no warranties beyond those required by law.
- HHN is not liable for delays, denials, or errors in MDHHS’s decisions.
- HHN is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the website or our services.
- HHN’s total cumulative liability to you for any claim, regardless of cause of action, will not exceed the greater of (a) $100, or (b) the total amount HHN was paid by Medicaid for your enrollment, if any.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limitations; in those cases, the limitations apply to the maximum extent legally allowed.
Termination
You may stop working with HHN at any time, with or without reason — just call or email us.
We may decline to continue providing service if:
- You cannot or will not provide accurate information needed for enrollment
- You do not meet eligibility requirements
- You repeatedly miss appointments or fail to respond to requests
- You are abusive or threatening to our staff
- We determine that continuing service violates applicable law or regulation
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions.
Disputes between you and HHN that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ingham County, Michigan, and you and HHN agree to that jurisdiction.
We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any concerns informally — email hello@homehelpnavigators.com or call (517) 955-3375.
