Privacy Policy

Effective: April 30, 2026 · Last updated: April 30, 2026

Home Help Navigators (“HHN”, “we”, “our”) is a licensed Michigan home care agency that helps families enroll in the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Home Help Program. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you use our website (homehelpnavigators.com) and what we do with it.

What we collect

When you use our website or submit a form, we may collect:

  • Contact information you provide: name, phone number, email address, ZIP code.
  • Information about your situation: who needs care, county, eligibility-quiz answers, free-text messages.
  • Technical information automatically collected: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, pages visited, time on site, referring URL.
  • Marketing-attribution data: URL parameters in the link you arrive on (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, gclid, fbclid, hhn_campaign) and small text files (cookies) that store this data so we can attribute leads to the correct marketing campaign.
  • Phone calls: if you call us, we may record the call for service quality and training. We will tell you at the start of the call if recording is happening.

We do notcollect protected health information (PHI) about the care recipient through this website. Health and Medicaid information needed for enrollment is collected separately during the formal application process, after you’ve spoken with us.

How we use your information

  • Determine whether your family appears eligible for Michigan Home Help
  • Contact you (by phone, text, or email) about enrollment, eligibility questions, and service updates
  • Submit required documents to MDHHS as part of the Home Help enrollment process
  • Improve our website, marketing, and service quality
  • Audit our work for quality and compliance
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

Who we share information with

We do not sell your information to anyone. We share it only with:

  • The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) — to enroll you in the Home Help Program. This is the core service we provide.
  • Twilio Inc. — our phone and SMS provider, who routes calls and texts on our behalf. Twilio acts as a data processor; they handle your phone number to facilitate communication, not for their own marketing.
  • Our customer relationship management (CRM) system — a software vendor that stores lead information for our internal use. Acts as a data processor; bound by contract not to use your data for their own purposes.
  • Service providers — Google Analytics for site usage, Meta Pixel for ad performance, Vercel for hosting. These vendors process small amounts of your data on our behalf for the purposes described in this policy.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies — small text files stored on your device — for:

  • Functional cookies: like hhn_campaign, which tracks the marketing campaign that brought you to the site so we can attribute and optimize our ads. Lasts up to 30 days.
  • Analytics cookies: from Google Analytics, which tells us how the site is used in aggregate. Lasts up to 2 years.
  • Advertising cookies:from Google Ads and Meta (Facebook), which help measure ad effectiveness. Lasts up to 1 year per platform’s defaults.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site may not work as intended. You can opt out of personalized ads through Google’s ad settings and Meta’s ad preferences.

Marketing communications

When you submit a form on our website, you are agreeing to be contacted by phone, text, and email about the Michigan Home Help Program. This is how we deliver our service — eligibility confirmation, application help, and follow-up.

You can opt out at any time:

  • Phone calls:ask us to stop calling. We’ll honor it immediately.
  • Texts: reply STOP to any of our text messages.
  • Emails: click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email.

Opting out of marketing communications does not stop us from contacting you about an active enrollment in progress.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your information (where we are not required to keep it for legal or contractual reasons)
  • Restrict how we use your information
  • Object to certain uses
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@homehelpnavigators.com or call (517) 955-3375.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you live in California, you also have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, sell, or share. (We don’t sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising.)
  • Delete personal information we hold about you (subject to legal exceptions).
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Limit our use of sensitive personal information.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To submit a CCPA request, email privacy@homehelpnavigators.com with “California Privacy Request” in the subject. We respond within 45 days.

HIPAA and health information

HHN is nota HIPAA “covered entity” with respect to the information collected on this website. The website itself does not collect protected health information (PHI).

When you formally enroll in the Michigan Home Help Program through HHN, the enrollment process involves health information (functional assessments, Medicaid status). At that point, applicable state and federal protections — including HIPAA’s protections for any information that meets HIPAA’s definition of PHI — apply through MDHHS and our agency operations.

We treat health-adjacent information collected on this website with reasonable care: encrypted transmission, access controls, retention limits, and vendor due diligence.

Data retention

  • Active leads (in active enrollment): for the duration of enrollment plus 7 years.
  • Inactive leads (no enrollment): 24 months from last contact, then deleted unless legal requirements apply.
  • Website analytics:per the analytics provider’s defaults (Google Analytics: up to 50 months by default).

You can request earlier deletion at any time using the contact info above.

Children's information

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will give notice on the website itself or by email if we have your address.
