I started Home Help Navigators because I've lived on both sides of this equation. Both of my parents passed away on Medicaid. Government benefit programs weren't abstract to me growing up — they were lifelines for my family. I know what it means when the system actually works for you.

I'm also a combat veteran. I've spent years navigating VA benefits and I understand firsthand how painful and confusing it is to qualify for help and still not be able to access it.

What kept me up at night was seeing hardworking Michigan families sacrificing everything to care for a parent at home — completely unaware that Medicaid had a program designed to pay them for it. The benefits are real. The program exists. But the paperwork and process stops most families cold.
